Two bouncers attached to Mirage Lounge in Ngong are expected to be charged in court on Friday, August 5, 2022, for the offence of murder of a police constable.

The two suspects identified as Jackeline Nduta Gachehe and Jessey Levi Luyali are alleged to have assaulted Police Constable Moses Oyugi at the Lounge on Sunday, July 31.

They were arrested on Thursday, August 4, 2022, after being positively identified in CCTV footage obtained from the scene of crime.

“DCI officers from Ngong took over the matter from OCS Ngong police station and revisited the scene, have the same documented, and today the 4th of August 2022 two suspects who were positively identified as per the CCTV footage analysis were arrested,” a police report seen by K24 Digital read in part.

Admitted to Nairobi West Hospital

The officer succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital.

A postmortem conducted on Thursday revealed that the cop died due to a blood clot in the brain caused by a blunt force trauma.

Police believe the deceased was pushed downstairs after a brawl at the club's counter.

In a CCTV footage obtained from the club, men believed to be bouncers at the club are seen pushing him before landing downstairs with his head-first.

The CCTV footage showed one of the suspects lifting him up. But he was not responding.

Bouncers arrested over murder at Déjà vu club

In April this year, a manager at Déjà vu club and two bouncers were arraigned in court and charged with the murder of a reveller.

The bouncers, who were captured in a video, beating the father of three senseless using pipes and sticks, in between blows and kicks pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
