Babu Owino has slammed UDA's Francis Mureithi as a sore loser for linking him to the murder of IEBC Embakasi East Returning Officer (RO) Daniel Musyoka.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Mureithi suggested that Babu had something to do with the death of Musyoka.
He alleged that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) RO was killed for refusing to engage in electoral malpractice.

Embakasi East MP angrily slammed Mureithi for linking him to the murder of IEBC official, questioning why he would kill the RO after winning the election.
"Ningekua na intention ya kuua huyu mtu mbona sikumuua before? Mbona niue huyu mtu saa zile nimeshaona nimeshinda election? Kwani mimi ni wazimu? Ata mwenda wazimu hawezi fanya kitu kama hio ju atakua na furaha sana in fact anaweza kufa ju ya furaha. Hii maneno ya kusema watu wameua mtu waachane na hio upuzi.
("If I had the intention of killing this person why didn't I do it before winning the election? Why kill him after I won? Am I mad? The issue of saying that I killed someone is pure nonsense.)," Babu Owino said while addressing the press.
Babu further said that there were several candidates - from the President, Governor, Senator, Women Rep, MP and MCA - whose names were on the ballot and who the electorate voted for in Embakasi East.
He wondered why out of all the candidates only he is being singled out as the suspect in the murder of Embakasi East Returning Officer.
Babu Owino slams Mureithi
The Embakasi East MP savagely slammed Mureithi for linking him to the murder of the IEBC Returning Officer, noting that the UDA candidate is just a sore loser after he defeated him with a big margin in the August 9 General Election.
Babu further revealed that Mureithi was to pay him Ksh10 million after he lost the petition challenging his win in the 2017 General Election. He said that he didn't ask his rival to pay because he pitied him.
"Alinipeleka kotini. Six months alinipeleka High Court, six months court of Appeal, six months Supreme Court. Bado tukutane na yeye hio kotini. Nilikua awarded cost of 10 million Kenyan shillings, sijawai muomba nilimsamehea. Hio 10 million alifaa anilipe, ningeenda kotini ata hange contest. But because nilijua niko na unworthy opponent nilisema huyo ni kukanyaga tu ni kama kukula ndumaa. Beating Mureithi was as easy as snatching a lollipop from a baby," he said.
