A 50-year old night guard was murdered in cold blood during a suspected night robbery at Rabuor Primary school.

The body of the deceased was discovered on the morning of Tuesday, October 19 in the school compound by the headteacher identified as Dickson Awuonda.

Awuonda said that the incident is suspected to have happened in the wee hours of the night.

"The body of the deceased was discovered at around 6.30 am with blood oozing from his mouth and nose," he said.

Confirming the incident, Nyando Sub-county OCS Leonard Matete said the matter was reported to them at Rabuor Police station at around 9:15 am.

The police boss told K24 Digital that his officers visited the scene and found the deceased, one Festus Omollo lying on the ground with blood oozing from his mouth and nose.

"There were also some signs of strangulation on his neck," he said.

Matete however said that the suspects who are still at large did not steal any of the school property.

He advised the school heads to employ more night guards to beef up security in the region.

The body of the deceased has since been moved to Ahero Sub-county Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
