Six people died in Njoro, Nakuru County after a lorry ran over them at 8pm on Friday, March 5 near Muthera Farm.
The vehicle, which was transporting potatoes to Nakuru Town from Njoro, careened off the road, and ploughed into six pedestrians, who died on the spot. The vehicle, thereafter, landed in a ditch.

Seven other people, who are farmworkers, had hitched a lift home in the lorry, and were injured following the crash.
“The farmworkers had been pushed out of the lorry after it hurtled into the ditch,” said Nakuru County Police Commander Tito Kilonzi.
The driver of the lorry fled the accident scene, police boss Kilonzi said.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the lorry lost control of the commercial truck immediately after overtaking another vehicle.
The injured were taken to a Nakuru hospital, whereas the deceased were moved to Egerton University Funeral Home.
