At least five regions are expected to experience rainfall this week, the Kenya Meteorological Department, announced on Tuesday, October 25.
In a seven-day forecast, the weatherman said some regions of the Coast, North Eastern Kenya, Central Rift Valley, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin are expected to receive rainfall from October 25 to October 31, 2022.
The department, however, noted that most parts of the country are likely to continue experiencing sunny and dry weather during the seven-day period.

In the Coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale, days are expected to be sunny and nights partly cloudy.
However, occasional morning showers may occur over a few places during the first half of the forecast period, the weatherman said.
"Average daytime (maximum) temperatures are likely to be high (more than 30°C) over the Coast, North-western and North-eastern Kenya as well as over some parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley. Average nighttime (minimum) temperatures are likely to be low (less than 10°C) over some part of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley," the department said in a statement.
Delayed rains
The rain will be a relief to North Eastern residents who are currently experiencing hunger due to a prolonged drought.
The affected counties include Mandera, Garissa, Isiolo, Wajir and Marsabit.
Last month, President William Ruto flagged off relief food to famine-stricken families and livestock in 23 counties across the country.
The Head of State said the food will benefit 3.5 million Kenyans in areas that have not experienced rain for several seasons.
“To ensure transparency, the relief food from both the national government and development partners will not only be distributed by the county commissioners as has been the case before. It will be a joint effort that will involve various stakeholders including the donors,” Ruto said.
“I would also like to commend our development partners for their generous donations. We will be meeting with them again this Wednesday where we will assess the situation of the drought also plan ahead to avoid duplication of roles."
