Three passengers have been confirmed dead and an unknown number injured after a grisly road accident near Kalamba market along Kitui-Kibwezi road on Saturday, August 19.
Confirming the accident, Kibwezi Assistant County Commissioner Agnes Maswai said those who died included two men and a woman.
Maswai said the vehicle was heading to Nairobi when it developed mechanical problems and lost control near Kalamba market.
“I confirm we have lost three people, two men and one woman, after the vehicle they were travelling in developed mechanical problems and lost control at Kalamba area along Kitui-Kibwezi road,” Maswai said.
The injured persons were rushed to Amref-Kibwezi Hospital in Makueni where they are receiving treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Makindu Hospital mortuary.
