Andrew Kibe quit radio for good in mid-2020 when he resigned from his work at Kiss FM where he used to host a morning show together with Kamene Goro.

Kibe opened up about why he quit radio while speaking on his podcast, revealing that he opted to leave because he was being emasculated.

"When I was in radio, bro I used to feel my masculinity being drained away from me. I used to feel like I am losing my manhood. Bro ukikaa na madem huanza kukaa kama madem. Women don't change but wewe unaaza kuwa kama madem.Unaanza kuflow na plans za madem. Unaaza kufanya vitu madem hufanya. I used to feel my masculinity. Bro because I was hanging out with women all the time. Mbaka najiangalia nasema ni nini? Hii ni energy gani nimeallow?" Kibe lamented.

The US-based blogger said he woke up one day and wrote his resignation letter.

"So I realized that I am dying when I was in radio. I am like am dying, I am losing myself. One day I just woke up and said no this is too much for me. There is too much noise. Why am I having too much noise in my life. Nkatuma barua, hii haiwezi, haiwezi. So when I left that's when I started now to have time to think for myself. Because I was so clogged up bro, I was in a mess," he added.

Kibe's radio career

Andrew Kibe and his former radio partner Kamene Goro started their radio careers at NRG Radio when it was launched. The two were paired to host the morning drive when the station went on air for the first time on March 1, 2018.

The duo worked together until June 2019 when they jointly quit NRG Radio after being poached by Kiss FM.

Kamene and Kibe were supposed to officially begin working at Kiss FM on July 1, 2019, but NRG dragged them to court for violating a non-compete clause in their contracts.

The two stayed off the air until September 2019 when they went on air at Kiss FM.

The duo worked together at Kiss FM until June 30, 2020, when Andrew Kibe officially quit to start his own internet radio.

Kamene Goro also quit Kiss FM, she hosted her last show on the station on January 27, 2023.
