Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Salasya is yet again the talk of the town after his undated video surfaced online.
In the video, a visibly intoxicated Salasya, who was accompanied by an unknown person, commented on President William Ruto's three-day state tour to the US.
"As the president goes there he must borrow a leaf on taxes alone. I am in the committee of agriculture and today we have been looking at the budget, the budget has been cutoff like almost 30% and now we are seeing the increase in taxes," he said.

Commenting on the Finance Bill 2024, Salasya said that the only way the country can attract investors is by cutting off the budget and reducing taxes so that money can flow.
"We are cutting budgets and introducing more taxes, how will the money be in circulation? He (Ruto) must accept one thing; to cut the budget and reduce taxes so that people can come and invest in this country," he stated.

Addiction
On Monday,20, May 2024, the youthful legislature through his Instagram page confessed that he always prays not to be addicted to or use drugs at any given point.
“Things am praying I should never get addicted (to) or use at any given point( are) cigarette and shisha. The rest I can because I don't overuse them,” he wrote.
Alcohol vs youths
In an undated video posted online, Salasya confessed that he only drinks alcohol for enjoyment and advised youths who are unable to control their liquor consumption to abstain.
Expressing his support for the government's crackdown on illicit drinks, the legislature called for the arrest of the traders selling alcohol in the morning.
“I want to talk to the youths if you know you can't handle alcohol achana nayo because alcohol can destroy your life. You cannot drink alcohol to forget your problem. You can only drink for fun kama mimi. I do it for fun,” he advised.
