Mûgithi ace Samuel Muchoki professionally known as Samidoh is breaking new ground in his career by producing his festival in an attempt to steer his music brand and diversify his fortunes in the industry.

The musical event dubbed Samidoh Fest debut was held at Ruaka accompanied by an ensemble of artists in the industry including Mugithi rising star Waithaka wa Jane and Luo benga ace Prince Indah among other entertainers.

These musicians entertained fans who were packed out at La Cascada Gardens to watch and celebrate the momentous occasion.

According to sources, Samidoh aims at setting up three editions of Samidoh Fest every year.

"We are working on holding Samidoh Fest at least thrice a year," a source privy to the plans indicated.

He exclusively owns the rights to the event which gives him an upper hand in direct negotiations with sponsors.

Samidoh now joins the growing list of Kenyan artistes who have staged their concerts including Sauti Sol (Solfest), Nyashinski (Shincity), and gospel artistes Sarah K (Worship Moments) and Moji Short Baba (Cheza Gospel Festival) among others.

Samidoh teaming up with Benga singer Prince Indah for the first edition of Samidoh Fest is a no-brainer for both sides.

The two proved their eventual power duo with their timely joint project, to kick Valentine's Day off the right way.

Their 6-minute banger -a Dholuo-kikuyu combo dubbed 'Bado Nakupenda' - sings hope to an old/ex-lover after an unexpected breakup. So far the hit has garnered over 2 million views and still counting.
