Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has met with Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, professionally known as Diamond Platnumz.

In a statement after meeting the 'Jeje' crooner, Sudi said they had discussed several issues of collaboration including a youth talent search initiative.

"Courtesy visit to EAC and Tanzania musician Diamond Platinumz; discussed areas of collaborating to explore youth talent search initiatives," Sudi stated.

The artiste is said to have his biggest fanbase in Kenya as compared to any other country across the globe, with most of the music views he gets on YouTube coming from Kenya.

Diamond's success

It is estimated that he makes $48,000 from YouTube monthly.

Currently, he has 8.72 million YouTube subscribers and 2.5 billion total YouTube views.

In an interview with a local publication last year, the 'Mapoz' hitmaker acknowledged Kenya's pivotal role in his music career terming the country his second home.

"Kenya is like a second home to me, especially since my youngest child was born here. I really feel at home. The country has played a significant role in supporting my music career through various events, so I have a deep love for Kenya," Diamond said.

Diamond sired his last child, Naseeb Junior, with Kenyan radio personality Tanasha Donna.

According to Kevin Meenan, YouTube music trends manager, most of Diamond's YouTube views came from Kenya between May 2019 and May 2020.

Tanzania and the United States were second and third respectively, with Tanzania accounting for only 20 per cent of the star's views on YouTube.

“Platnumz has amassed a mind-blowing 3.6 million subscribers and 980 million views on his channel, about 80% of them from outside of Tanzania. For the measurement period of May 1, 2019, to May 1, 2020, globally, Kenya, drove the most views for Platnumz, followed by Tanzania and the United States,” Meenan said.

In 2023, Diamond performed at three different events in Kenya, all in the country's capital Nairobi.

In 2022, Diamond was paid millions to perform in Kenya at an event organised by the opposition outfit Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party.
