Three months after he announced he was back on his feet after battling a mental health and financial crisis, Kimani Mbugua is once again raising concerns with his latest video.

In the TikTok live video circling across the internet, the former Citizen TV journalist who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020 appears unusual with a section of netizens opining that he might have relapsed into his previous state.

However, this remains a speculation that K24 Digital cannot independently confirm whether it is true or false.

Kimani Mbugua was captured in both rural and urban setups speaking gibberish with an unusual voice. He appears jovial while making sarcastic laughs, which is unlike him from a few videos back.

In a different video, he is captured with a few other people in the background and at some point he refers to one a neighbour and another as his dad whom he invites to speak on the live video before he is whisked away.

So far, he has yet to confirm or refute the claims.

This comes months after his appeal to Kenyans to help him raise Ksh200,000 to start a business and boost his finances in a detailed video saying:

"I fell ill in 2020. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and since then my life has fallen apart. I have lost so many things, I have lost so many friends on the journey. People got tired of me and I'm in a position where most people are not willing to help," Kimani Mbugua narrated.

"I got out of the hospital last week and I feel my mind has gotten back to normal and I don't want to go back to the place where I used to be. I am homeless. The people I was living with said they couldn't host me any longer so they told me to look for an alternative," he added.

Mbugua said he was indebted to the tune of Ksh1.7 million.

"I'm in so much debt... like Ksh1.7 million. Somebody very close to me sold my car. I haven't had a job in the last two years. I've just been wandering and being hosted by different people. But now I'm healing," he said.

Later, TikTok content creator Nyako marshalled her fans and quickly raised more than Ksh420,000 for the journalist.

After receiving the cash, Kimani Mbugua told his fans that he bought media equipment with some of the money they contributed and that he would be hitting the streets to record his show dubbed 'Unbroken' which has been running ever since.
