Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress has hinted that she could undergo cosmetic surgery after the procedure she underwent earlier to lose weight flopped.
Kate Actress floated the idea of a second cosmetic procedure while engaging with a fan on Instagram.
The mother of two had shared photos of herself working out and went on to complain about her constant struggle to eat the food she wants while seeking the much-desired stomach abs.
"The constant battle between Food and ABS 😩 Mai lawd! But nways these gym fits are the cutest. Super stretchy and comfy too…" She wrote.
The post elicited lots of reactions from her fans who couldn't agree with Kate Actress anymore regarding the desire to eat while keeping fit.
"The struggle is real!!!!" Izareeh wrote.
Kate Actress suggested that she was saving to undergo a liposuction procedure while responding to Izareeh's comment.
"But atleast we are saving for lipo 😂😂😂" Kate Actress stated.
Liposuction is a procedure that sucks fat from specific areas of the body such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. The procedure changes the shapes of these areas in a process called contouring.
The resulting shape changes are usually permanent as long as the patient's body weight remains the same.
The risks include contouring irregularities where your skin may appear bumpy, wavy or withered; fluid buildup in temporary skin pockets, numbness, infection, internal puncture of organs, fat embolism, kidney and heart problems. [sic]
Silicone balloon
Kate Actress' indication that she could undergo lipo comes after she was forced to remove a silicone balloon she swallowed to lose weight.
The mother of two had an inflatable silicone balloon inserted into her stomach in a bid to lose weight in a procedure called laparoscopic gastric balloon placement.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve in November 2022, Kate said she stayed with the balloon in her stomach for four months before she had them removed.
The actress lamented that she was losing too much weight very fast, revealing that in the first few weeks, she lost 15kgs.
"I told them (the hospital), I wanted to lose weight but not this much coz I still want to be a curvy girl," Catherine Kamau said.
The actress noted that she wanted to lose only about 20kgs but she had no idea that losing even 5kgs was such a huge difference in how she would look.
"I realised that my body would shrink and I might not look like the same person. I would not look nice. I talked to them and they told me after a month they would incorporate movement and change my diet so I don't end up losing so much and look saggy," she said.
Kamau further revealed that she resorted to working out after getting rid of the silicone balloon.
"I love working out and lifting weights. I started working out slowly and went back to the gym as I needed to have my muscles back. I realized that my weight was coming back and I looked even better," she said.
Catherine Kamau underwent laparoscopic gastric balloon placement in May 2022.
She updated her fans after undergoing gastric balloon placement at Nairobi Bariatric. She said that the procedure cost between Ksh350,000 to Ksh500,000.
