Karen Nyamu insists the action by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to publicly castigate Samidoh was justifiable.
Speaking during an interview with the YouTube channel Convo, Karen Nyamu said Samidoh deserved to be given the public dressing-down because he failed as a polygamist in light of the unfortunate incident that happened in Dubai.
"Mtu kama DP akiongelea hii kitu publicly 'wee unafaa upange one, two three'. How do you take it? Do you take it's a joke or something serious?" Interviewer asked.
"No it's not a joke sababu story kama hio ilihapen Dubai si joke. It was serious and it was a lapse on his [Samidoh's] part. So the DP was calling him out because it was a lapse on his part squarely," Karen Nyamu replied.
Karen Nyamu was embroiled in a vicious catfight with Samidoh's wife Edday Nderitu at a club in Dubai on December 17, 2022.
Videos of the altercation went viral on social media and Nyamu later came out to address the fight.
In a live video on Facebook, the UDA-nominated senator said that it was a moment of weakness and blamed alcohol for her behaviour.
Karen Nyamu later announced her breakup with Samidoh and promised not to engage in any drama in 2023.
"Great and powerful women will attest that many times our weakest link is the men we get involved with. I am stopping the pattern. I have made a conscious decision to end for good my involvement with the father of my babies and now ex-Samidoh Muchoki," Karen Nyamu said.
"I know I could have called him and ended it quietly but I decided to make this as public as the drama and controversy have been. This had become a concern, especially with the position I hold as a member of the 4th senate," she added.
Speaking during the funeral of the late Pauline Nyokabi, the elder sister of Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria, in Gatundu South, Kiambu County on January 23, 2023, DP Rigathi Gachagua scolded Samidoh, who was in attendance, for failing to take charge and control Karen Nyamu and Edday.
"Na wewe sasa Samidoh kuna pahali unatuangusha kidogo. Control hii watu wako. Seek advice or we shall discipline you na tukukataze kwenda ng'ambo," Gachagua told Samidoh amid laughter from the attendees.
Exactly a month later after Gachagua's rebuke, Karen Nyamu and Samidoh revealed they were back together as they attended a burial in Murang'a county.
The two lovebirds on February 23, 2023, joined the family of the Deputy President in paying their last respects to Gachagua's sister-in-law Nancy Muthoni who was laid to rest in Gatanga, Murang'a county.
Samidoh's wife Edday Nderitu came out guns blazing after the Mugithi sensation was spotted in the company of his baby mama at the burial of Gachagua's sister-in-law in Murang'a.
Edday penned an emotional message on her Facebook page suggesting that she would walk out of her marriage as she stressed that she couldn't raise her children in a polygamous marriage.
Samidoh and Karen Nyamu were unmoved by Edday's message as they once again made a joint appearance at the burial of the singer's nephew Geoffrey Mwathi in Nakuru on March 8, 2023.
At the ceremony, the singer introduced Nyamu by their daughter's name (Mama Wairimu) when he asked her to greet mourners.
Edday and her three children ultimately moved to the US in early May 2023.
On July 22, 2023, Samidoh's estranged wife said in a post on social media that she was not in a polygamous marriage, adding that she had left her husband to 'whoever needed him more'.
