The Afro-beats echoed around Ngong Racecourse to acknowledge an extraordinary performance by Fireboy DML marking one of the biggest events in the city.

The concert, sponsored by Guinness included a  lineup of talented individuals delivering an awe-inspiring show for guests to enjoy with an ice-cold Guinness in hand.

The show pulled a crowd from across the country as well as those watching it virtually via K24Plus

Bensoul, the opener was one of those moments to cherish. From Exravanganza to favourite song, Medicine, Fine Wine, Thick Thighs, and beloved Nairobi, his act was outstanding throughout.

Nviiri the Story Teller took over the stage to set the mood with his hits Kesi Badaae, Kitenge, Nikita, Pombe Sigara and of course Niko Sawa before inviting Bensoul for their new track Whine.

DJ Shinski then took it over and yes, believe the hype. The spin master is good at his craft as he spun deep cuts to get the fans hyped enough for the man of the moment and with a heavy emphasis on some of the best Kenyan music and that gave fans a precursor for what was to come.

At exactly 2:00 am, Fireboy took over the stage like a ‘Champion’ – his first song of the night. Standing on the stage, he showcased African creativity at its finest.

The nearly one and a half-hour set took us down an afrobeat path singing some of his chart-topping hits from Jealous, to Girl from New York City, Vibration, and Eli before shutting the stage with his biggest track yet Peru.

His final act, a moment which has now become an internet fodder, where he did a crazy dance before his last salute to our beloved city.

To close the fun night, the sibling duo DJ Mo Spice and DJ Kym were on the horizon with reggae and roots to offer that nostalgia experience while spinning the timeless genre.
