Comedian Dr King'ori's night show dubbed The Wicked Edition is coming to an end after seven years on air.

Taking to social media, the host revealed that the satirical show will air for a final time on Friday, January 12, 2024, as King'ori exits NTV.

"Thank you for being part of our story. Here's to turning a new page together with anticipation for the countless stories yet to be told," part of his statement reads.

The comedian did not share more details about the termination of the partnership.

How Dr King'ori landed the role

Recalling how he landed the role, Dr King’ori acknowledged that CNN Africa correspondent Larry Madowo’s efforts saw him secure the deal.

At the time, King’ori who had ventured into professional comedy in 2010, was based in Embu where he did acting gigs but had a vision of hosting a TV show.

He would later approach the local media outlet in vain so he opted to write jokes for various TV shows before Madowo stepped in.

Larry Madowo -who was then hosting the Trend approached him and challenged him to explore other ways of doing comedy besides writing jokes.

The duo went through various forms of comedy and exchanged great insights that saw King'ori script his new show that aired one year later.

The script was later handed to 'The Trend' producer and King'ori's show 'The Wicked Edition' was integrated into Larry Madowo's show.
