Dave’s performance

Dave Chapelle’s act of no device doesn’t come as a surprise seeing that comedians hold their live recordings with high regard.

In December 2023, Chapelle once had an altercation with a fan near the end of his performance, when he noticed a man sitting close to the front row recording him.

He called the man out and reported him to security before scolding the audience. Chappelle explained to the crowd why he doesn't allow recording at his shows and, reportedly, equated a phone pointed at him to a gun.
