President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on married men to avoid mpango wa kando to preserve their wealth.
Speaking at KICC, where he launched National Title Deeds Issuance Program, Uhuru said many men have lost property and family because of mpango wa kandos.
"Pesa ikiingia, akipitia mtaani anakutwa na kengine hapo, anasahau yule aliwacha nyumbani, mali inaisha, unawacha familia na watoto wakifilisika. Jameni wazee tubadilike."
This loosely translates to: "When they receive money, they pass by the town where they will meet women and he forgets the wife he left at home. When he exhausts the money, he will leave his family broke. Men, let us change."
Uhuru issues title deeds
One million land owners are expected to benefit from Uhuru's directive to distribute title deeds across the country to the Lands Ministry and Ministry of Interior.
"I am directing the Ministry of Lands and Ministry of Interior to draw a road map and assign to every Cabinet Secretary responsibility to travel to every part of the country together with county commissioners to issue the balance of the ready title deeds," he said.
