Man kills brother over Ksh100 airtime

A 26-year-old man was arraigned in a Narok court for killing his brother by hitting him on the head using a Maasai rungu over Ksh100 airtime.

Josphat Topoti appeared before Resident Magistrate Daniel Ngayo where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court was told that on February 13, 2022, at around 4:00 pm at Olchoro Trading Centre in Narok North Sub- County, a fight ensued between the two brothers, Josphat Topoti and Emmanuel Topoti.

The two were fighting over airtime worth Ksh100 when Josphat hit him on the head to unconsciousness.

He was rushed to Olchoro dispensary where he was treated and discharged but a day later, he complained of headache was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.

The Investigation Officer Erick Owuor told the court that they needed three days to complete investigations before charging him.

The case will be mentioned on June 16, 2022.
