Police in Kisii County are holding two brothers who allegedly killed their father on Saturday afternoon over inheritance.

K24 Digital has established that the duo killed their father Chrisantus Otwori Ogechi, 70 before they dumped his body in a borehole.

The body of Ogechi was retrieved from the borehole on Saturday, July 3, and the family now claims that the differences were as a result of inheritance issues.

The man was buried on Sunday at his home in Raganga in a ceremony that has shocked the community at large.

Mary Moraa who is a daughter of the deceased told police that the family has in the recent past witnessed serious differences between his father and the duo.

“For the last three years, we have witnessed serious differences between our father and my two brothers. We never knew that this is how the matter would end up,” she said.

According to her, Ogechi was murdered mid last week when the rest of the family members were busy in the farm.

“I am the one who saw the body of my father inside the well, he had deep cuts on both hands and he must have been assaulted before he was finally killed,” Moraa said.

On Saturday, social media was awash with photos of the body of the man being pulled out of the well as a crowd watched in dismay.

Police decided to arrest the duo after they issued contradicting sentiments over the matter.
