Police in Kibwezi East sub-county have arrested two suspects who were found in possession of bhang and illicit brews in two separate incidents on Saturday morning.

In the first incident, Erick Mulei Mbeva (22), was arrested by police after he was found with 21 rolls of bhang hidden in between two inner wears at 10am on Saturday.

The Mtito Andei Senior Chief led the police officers who searched the house and the suspect himself after a tip off from the members of the public.

"The cannabis sativa was rolled in brown pieces of paper and was recovered from the double inner wears the suspect was wearing," Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan told KNA on Saturday.

He said the suspect who is being held at Mtito Andei police station, will be arraigned in a Makindu court on Monday where he will be charged with being in possession of bhang illegally.

In the second incident, Boniface Mutua was arrested after he was found in possession of illicit brew at Ngolo Sub-location.

During the arrest, the suspect was found with 80 and 5 litres of karubu and chang'aa by the area assistant chief who was accompanied by police officers on patrol.

The County Commander said the suspect was being held at Kibwezi police station, and will be taken to a Makindu court on Monday where he will be charged with being in possession of illicit brew.
