Teachers and pupils of Kapsabet School for the Deaf in Nandi County on Tuesday, November 17 protested the demolition of a wall near the school’s dormitories.
The bringing down of the wall and toilets in the school was allegedly conducted by the County Government of Nandi.
It is alleged that the county administration demolished the structures to create space for the construction of a gate that will lead to Kapsabet Youth Polytechnic.
The head-teacher of Kapsabet School for the deaf, Joy, condemned the demolitions, saying the county government’s move will endanger the lives of pupils in the school.
Nandi County Government, through its Education ministry, said it okayed the demolitions because “it was about time the polytechnic separates its land from that of the primary school”.
