Angola has received 75,000 heads of cattle sent by Chad as part of the repayment of a 2017 $100m (Ksh10.4 billion) debt.

The animals consisting of over 1,000 heads of cattle were delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture.

State-run Jornal de Angola newspaper said it ascertained that the vessel LSS FUCCSS, registration number IN06927092, which transported the cattle would return to Luanda in five days carrying another batch.

Some 4,500 heads of cattle are expected to arrive in Luanda in the course of this month, it said.
