Kirinyaga Woman Representative Jane Njeri Maina, citing her tolerance, said she forgave Governor Anne Waiguru following her alleged actions that led to her being injured on August 22, 2023.

Njeri made the comment on Saturday, November 18, 2023, while addressing a crowd during the commissioning of link roads, in Ndia, Kirinyaga County by President William Ruto.

"While you were away Your Excellency, there were people who had plotted against me, and I'm urging Kirinyaga leaders to foster peaceful politics. I want to declare in public that I have forgiven Governor Waiguru," she said.

She also said she had forgiven the goons hired to beat her up.

"Nimeongea na county commissioner, DCIO, CCIO, wamesema ya kwamba watahakikisha kwamba hao vijana wameshikwa," Njeri Maina added.

Njeri Maina and Waiguru's feud stems from attacks experienced by the former during her development tour in her region after her supporters clashed with the County boss's supporters at the Kirinyaga Police Station.

According to Njeri, she was attacked by people known to her sent by her political enemies.

"It's people I know. I have bled but I will defend the people of Kirinyaga County. I have been elected here in Kirinyaga and people must get their rights," she said.

Ms Maina was attacked while on a meet-the-people tour in Kerugoya town when she was blocked by goons who wanted to bar her from addressing the people.

The Woman Rep, who was on foot, was in the company of Baragwi Ward MCA David Mathenge who was also caught up in the fracas.

The leaders fled to their cars before being driven to Kerugoya Hospital where they were treated.
