President Uhuru Kenyatta will not proceed on a one-month leave beginning December 15, Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has said.

On Monday, December 7 unconfirmed reports suggested that the Head of State won’t be available on phone or mail from December 15 to January 15, 2021.

The allegations are said to have originated from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was communicating to its officials -- through a communique -- that all work that requires the president’s attention should be channeled to the ministry's principal secretary.

Oguna has since taken to Twitter to stamp as “fake” the said-letter to Foreign Affairs officials.
