President Uhuru Kenyatta has settled on a lawyer, Mr Gerishom Otachi Bw'Omanwa, to take over the leadership the National Land Commission.
Mr Bw'omanwa is the managing partner of Nairobi-based Ogetto, Otachi and Company Advocates.
The University of Nairobi trained lawyer is also the current chairman of the Geothermal Development Company, a position he has held since 2015.
Former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi is also set to make a comeback after President picked him as a member of the NLC.
The President submitted the list of nine nominees to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi for approval.
Mr Bw'omanwa is set to become the second chairman of the Land commission whose former boss's tenure was marred by corruption scandals.
Mr Kenyatta also selected former Nyeri Town MP Esther Murugi, Prof James Tuitoek, Ms Getrude Nduku Nguku, Ms Reginald Okumu, Ms Hubbie Hussein Al-Haji, Mr Alister Murimi Mutugi and former Isiolo Woman Representative Tiya Galgalo to serve as land commissioners.
Mr Bw'omanwa emerged top from a list of 11 people who expressed interest to replace Prof Mahammad Swazuri who left a tainted legacy after six years at the helm of the land commission.
