Two men arrested for reportedly defiling school girl inside Sotik lodging

Two men suspected of defiling a 16-year-old school-going child after locking her up inside a lodging in Sotik, Bomet County have been arrested.

According to a police statement seen by K24 Digital on Tuesday, October 12, Linus Nyakundi, 19 and Danface Makori, 22, were spotted by a concerned member of the public at Sudan Lodging within Sotik's Tembwo trading centre, who reported to the area assistant chief of having seen the two earlier in the company of a young girl.

To ascertain the information, the assistant chief headed to the said lodging where he found the suspects having locked themselves in a room, and unwilling to open.

"The suspects, however, gave way and surrendered upon arrival of the Sotik-based police, whereafter the rescued girl studying at a local high school was escorted to the hospital for medical attention," the police statement read in part.

Meanwhile, in Kilungu, Makueni County, a 50-year-old man reported to have defiled his 10-year-old daughter while her mother was away is behind bars.

John Muema Ndilu was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the grade three pupil in the company of her mother booked the report at Kola Police Station.

Reportedly, Muema had on September 28, 2021, committed the abominable act while his wife, 36, was away fetching water, before threatening to kill the minor if she dared report the incident to anyone.

It was until today that the girl opened up to her mother, who in turn escorted the daughter to book the report.

With the suspect in custody, the girl has been taken to a local hospital for medical examination, pending further police action.
