The Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) has announced the restoration of traffic flow along Bangali-Madogo Road.

In a statement, KeNHA stated that the affected section at Arer from Bangali town is now passable after restoration works were done.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority notifies the public that traffic flow along Bangali - Madogo Road (A3) has been restored. The affected section at Arer (41km) from Bangali town is now passable. KeNHA appreciates your patience during the restoration process," KeNHA said.

The road had been declared impassable after a heavy downpour last week.

KeNHA issued a statement noting that the floods had affected areas such as Tula, Arer, Habakik and Kaabso.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority notifies the public that traffic flow along Bangali - Madogo (A3) Road has been affected by floods. The affected areas at Bangali Town are Tula (31km), Arer (41km), Kaabso (46km), and Habakik (51km)," a statement by KeNHA read in parts.

The latest development comes amid heavy rains currently witnessed across different parts of the country.

Last week, the Kenya Meteorological Department issued a statement urging citizens to remain vigilant even as the rains continue to hit hard.

The weatherman noted that the rains are expected to continue across areas such as the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley region as well as the South-Eastern lowlands.

Other areas that will experience the heavy rains include the Coast, North-eastern Kenya, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
