Seven people at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve have been placed under mandatory quarantine after it emerged that a Narok native, who recently jetted into the country from South Africa, tested positive for coronavirus.
Area Governor Samuel Ole Tunai says the Narok constituent, who lives in Nairobi, is one of the 27 patients quarantined at Mbagathi Hospital.
The county boss said fears of possible spread of the contagion increased after the patient’s son travelled to Trans Mara from Nairobi in a private vehicle. It is said the son had interacted closely with his father, hence there could be chances he contracted the disease.
