A sombre mood has engulfed Kapndasum village in Koituimet sub location Baringo County following the murder of a 43-year-old man over beehives

Alex Kalemaa Kiptoi, 18, is indicted of killing his elder brother Joseph Kipsingor Kiptoi whom he accused of taking the lion’s share of over 40 beehives that their late father had left behind.

“An 18-year-old man from Mogotio is currently in custody, after an argument with his brother over an apiary turned fatal,” DCI said.

Kiptoi accused his brother of denying him his rightful share of his inheritance, where it is alleged an argument ensued as the accused shot the deceased with an arrow on his right thigh and left him to bleed to death.

As curious onlookers who couldn’t come to terms with Kipsingor’s death thronged the scene, detectives based at Mogotio police station processed the scene, recovered crucial exhibits and arrested the suspect who is currently in custody.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was taken to a morgue in Eldama Ravine town.
