List of areas scheduled for power blackout on Wednesday

Sunday blackout to affect 7 counties - Kenya Power

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of the scheduled power blackout in select parts of the country on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

The utility firm in a notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network.

The utility firm noted that the Wednesday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Makueni, Kajiado, Migori, Kiambu and Kilifi Counties.

Parts of Nairobi County will be in blackout for eight hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Dandora Phase 2, 3, 4 & 5, Parts of Councilor Opondo Rd, Gitari, Marigu & adjacent customers.

Parts of Makueni County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Kiboko Mkt, Masimba Mkt, Utini, Matuu, Makutano, Yikivumbu, Vololo, Ngaaka & adjacent customers.

Parts of Kajiado County will not have electricity supply from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Ilpolosat SGR & adjacent customers.

Parts of Migori County will be in blackout from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Kehancha and Ntimaru in particular will be the worst affected. The specific areas include; Migori Airstrip, KEFRI, Nyanchabo, Masaba, Nyamamagagana, Kurutyange, Ikerege, Tarawiti, Koego, Nyametaburo, Nyamaranya, Karosi, Kehancha Town, St. Kizito, Maeta, Kegonga, Igena, Nyabikongori, Kebarisia, Mosweto, Nyamutiro, Kebaroti, Makararangwe, Ntimaru & adjacent customers.

Parts of Kiambu County will experience power interruptions from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Whole of Kahawa Sukari, Wendani, Part of KU University, Clean Shelf Wendani, Magunas Wendani, Royal Homes, Playway Academy, Quickmart, Wendani Hosp, Zetech, Rainbow Hotel Ruiru, Waki, Agape, Mijicare, Part of Kihunguro, Part of KU, KU Mortuary, Unicity Mall, National Oil, Naivas & adjacent customers.

Parts of Kilifi County will be in blackout from 8:00 to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Kakanjuni, Ganze, Vitengeni, Langombaya, Sokoke, Matano Manne, Palakumi, Petanguo, Mwapula, Dzikunze, Mnarani, Mavueni, New Life, Vipingo, Shauri Moyo, Kadzinuni, Chasimba, Jaribuni, Mwarakaya, Pwani Oil, Tiger Packaging, Flamboyant, Vipingo Industries & adjacent customers.
