President William Ruto has appointed former Cherang'any constituency Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny as chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board(Kecobo).

In a Gazette notice dated October 26, 2023, Kutuny will serve as the board's boss for a period of three years.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) (a) of the Copyright Act, 2001, I William Ruto appoint Joshua Kutuny to be the chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board for a period of three years, with effect from October 27, 2023," part of the notice reads.

Kutuny lost his seat to Patrick Simiyu of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya DAP-K in the August 9 polls.

At the time, he was also Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary General.

Kutuny conceded defeat and congratulated Simiyu. He also urged him to diligently serve the people of Cherang'any constituency and deliver on his campaign manifesto.
