Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga was on Wednesday forced to cut short his public address at Githurai roundabout on the Thika-Nairobi after rowdy youths disrupted the event.

The rowdy youths stormed the roadside rally chanting pro-Ruto slogans, leading to a confrontation with some of the rally attendees.

Police were forced to fire teargas to scuttle the rowdy youths.

Several people were injured in the melee that ensued.

Raila made the roadside stopover after holding a meeting with business leaders at Homeland on the Thika-Nairobi highway.
