Opposition leader Raila Odinga has hit out at President William Ruto accusing him of selectively dealing with extra-judicial killings in the country.

Addressing the press in Nairobi on Thursday, November 3, the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya party leader said Ruto is using the criminal justice system to settle political scores.

Raila said the vigour Ruto is using to find the two missing Indians should also be applied to trace the killers of businessman Jacob Juma, former IEBC officer Chris Musando and several International Criminal Court (ICC) witnesses who were murdered mysteriously.

"As Ruto search for the missing Indians, we equally want a vigorous search for the truth behind the disappearance and death of tens of Kenyans including the following: Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei, Christopher Koech, Meshack Yebei, John Kitui, Walter Barasa, Philip Bett, John Kangete, George Thuo, Bernard Kimeli, Charles Ndungu, Naftali Irungu, Timothy Mburu, among other ICC witnesses," Raila said during the press conference.

The Opposition leader, however, said he hopes the missing Indians will be found alive.

"Ruto seems to be looking for Indians he lost in the middle of the election. Those Indians are human beings who deserve to live and we continue to pray for their families and hope they will be found alive and that justice shall be done in the case," he stated.

He also said Ruto is using extra-judicial cases to settle scores with the former Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti.

"We are concerned by the action on extrajudicial killings which are turning into witchhunt of the former DCI boss Mr. George Kinoti and a few police officers.

"Let us be clear on the so-called extra-judicial prosecutions. As a party, we believe in the sanctity of life of every Kenyan and the rule of law and due process," he said.

He further called on the government to deal firmly with the disappearance and murder of innocent Kenyans, saying his supporters have been the most affected over the years.

"Our supporters have been the victims of extra-judicial killings over the years. We believe that all not cases of real or suspected extra-judicial executions need to be investigated and those responsible punished.

"We are, however, firmly opposed to the current trend directed by a vindictive regime and the President that seems to be pursuing a personal vendetta against current and past state officers in the pretext of pursuing extra-judicial prosecutions," he added.
