President William Ruto has been inducted into the American Academy of Achievement at a Golden plate Award ceremony in Washington DC.

The award was presented by Awards council members renowned doctor Ben Carson, General Charles Q. Brown of the United States Air force, state house, Cathy and Wayne Reynolds.

While presenting the academy's chairman, Wayne Reynolds lauded Ruto for his inspiring journey to State House.

“From a village in Kenya, owning his first pair of shoes at the age of 15, rising through politics, studying to the highest level of academic achievement, and inspiring a generation in the art of what is possible, with hard work, faith, and determination,” Reynolds stated.

Ruto joins an illustrious group of achievers such as former US President Barack Obama, astronaut Neil Armstrong, billionaire Bill Gates, former South Africa president Nelson Mandela, businessman Jeff Bezos, late Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Bill Clinton.

Presented by the American Academy of Achievement since 1961, the Golden plate award recognises men and women of exceptional accomplishments in the sciences, professions, business, industry, arts, literature, sports, and entertainment.
