Wednesday power outage to affect 4 counties

Kenya Power announces power outages in parts of the country

Kenya Power has announced a temporary electricity outage scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, affecting four counties.

In a statement shared on Tuesday, March 26, the utility company cited routine maintenance for the scheduled interruption.

The blackout will affect various areas within Nairobi, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, and Kilifi counties.

Nairobi residents in parts of Waiyaki Way, Raphta Road, and surrounding areas will experience power outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 am.

Additionally, parts of Tharaka Nithi County, including Chogoria County Offices and surrounding locations, will also experience a blackout from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

In Kiambu County, areas such as Toll Station and Murera Coffee will be affected, along with several surrounding regions. The outage is scheduled from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

"Parts of Waiyaki Way, Parts of Ring Rd Westlands, Raphta Rd, Lantana Rd, Sports Rd, David Osieli Rd, East Church Rd, Church Rd, St. Michaels Rd, Mahiga Mairu Rd, Mangu Gardens & adjacent customers. Chogoria County Offices, Chogoria Boys, Chogoria Girls, Kamara, Makori Girls, Kabeche, Chogoria KCB & adjacent customers. Murera Coffee, Whole of Mugutha, Toll Stn, Ruiru Golf Club, Shell Toll Stn, Courtesy Beach, Titanic, Green Ridge, Mugutha Sec Sch, Murera Pri Sch, Tumaini Catholic Church, Mugutha One Four, Mukuyu Rd, Judea Est, PCEA, Mugutha Police, Neema Est, Riverline Est, Damridge Est, Ruera Dam, Makaburi Village, Wakariuki & adjacent customers," the utility company announced.

Residents in the coastal region of Kilifi, particularly in Watamu and neighbouring areas, will also experience a blackout during the same period.

Specific locations within these areas, including schools, resorts, businesses, and residential areas, are expected to be affected by the temporary interruption.

"Medina Palms Resort, Dongo Kundu, Temple Point Resort, Garoda Resort, Captain Andy's, Kobe Resort, Hon. Mung'aro, Hemmingways Resort, KWS, Temple Point, Palm Garden, Tuttle Bay, Watamu Village, Kanaan, Villa Watamu, Gede, Timboni, Tobaso, Ocean Spot, Seven Islands, Peponi Rd, Barakunda & adjacent customers," Kenya Power stated.
