Scheduled power blackout to affect 7 counties

Kenya Power has issued a notice informing Kenyans of the scheduled power interruption on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

In a statement, the utility firm said the temporary power outage affecting seven counties is part of routine maintenance.

"Hello, these areas will be affected by scheduled power interruptions," Kenya Power wrote.

The seven affected counties are Nyeri, Embu, Baringo, Kakamega, Kisii, Nyamira, and Homa Bay.

Parts of Nyeri will experience a power blackout between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. They are -Gitero, Kagwathi, Kiandere, Kwa Tailor Kiamwathi, Kwa Jomo, Githakwa and adjacent areas.

In Embu, Kteni Mixed School, Kathanjuri Market and Secondary, Kathera village, and adjacent customers will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Parts of Baringo County are scheduled to experience power backout from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. The areas are Kabartonjo, Ex Kabarnet, Kaptimbor Market, Showground, Pemwai Girls, Alpa Radio, Imani Radio, Ossen Market and adjacent areas.

Parts of Kakamega County are scheduled to experience power interruptions from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. The areas are New National Housing, Lubao, KMTC, Ebwabwa, Shinyalu Bar, Bishopstamp, Emusala, Emukaba, Haditi and adjacent customers.

In Kisii, power blackout will be experienced in Magonga, Magena, Nyangusu, Nyaboterere and adjacent customers.

Blackout in Nyamira County will affect Magwagwa, Chabera, Matongo, Esamba, Sakwa village, Getare, Matongo, Nyahututu, Chabera and adjacent customers.

Similarly, parts of Homa Bay County will experience a power blackout between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm.

The areas are Apida, Rakwaro, Chowe, Miremba, Karabondi, Kogana, Rakwaro, Nyakwere, Kobala, Burlum, Osodo, Chowe, Kibugu, Kibaga, Liieta Omindi and adjacent customers.
