Police officers arrested in Naivasha while trying to sell firearm

A Nairobi based police officer has been arrested and is being held by colleagues at Naivasha Police station after he tried to sell a firearm.

According to a statement seen by K24 Digital, it was reported by one Antony Okoth that a police officer from Nairobi requested him to look for a buyer who can purchase a firearm and the said informer gave him a green light to bring the firearm to Naivasha.

In the Tuesday, December 28 statement, it's reported that police officers laid an ambush at Craft Yard Club where the selling and buying deal was to be done.

It is said that the police officer in question was in possession of; CZ 9mm pistol serial No KE-KPF 1948 with 15 rounds of 9mm, a box containing 25 rounds of 9mm, Certificate of Appointment, National Environment Management Authority Card, and three mobile phones.

He arrived at Craft Yard Club in a taxi and in the company of the driver identified as Joseph Mwangi Maina, a woman whose identity has been established as Joy Wairimu kinoti and a fellow cop Patrick Kimani.
