A senior police officer lost 9 rounds of ammunition and sustained injuries following a bar brawl over a Ksh1200 unpaid bill along Mirema Drive in Kasarani on Tuesday morning July 12, 2022.

Inspector Fredrick Mzungu attached to Jogoo police station and Inspector Kelvin Mwangi of Kileleshwa police station had gone to Paris Lounge and Grill on Monday evening while accompanied by four other members of the public for some refreshment.

On Tuesday, July 12 2022 at around 4 am, a disagreement over a bill ensued, leading to a fight between the officers and the club’s security personnel.

As a result, Inspector Mzungu withdrew his Cesca pistol loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition.

“In defence, the security personnel disarmed the officer and in the process a magazine loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition got lost,” a report seen by K24 Digital reads.

The police officer fought several people

He was disarmed by security officers and it was in the process that he lost the loaded Magazine. The six started fighting before Mzungu withdrew his Cesca pistol with the intention to shoot.

“During the scuffle, the said officer sustained head injuries. The pistol has been recovered and kept at the Kasarani police station armoury for safe custody. The search for the lost magazine is in progress,” the police report adds.

This follows another incident early last month when Constable George Otieno lost his firearm at the Kisumu’s Shauri Moyo Administration Police staff quarters when he had gone to fetch water.

“He reported that he had securely closed his house and went to fetch water about 70 meters leaving his official firearm make; Taurus Revolver of serial number TK69848 inside a laptop bag,” a police report read.

The officer said he returned to his house after ten minutes and found the door open and the following items were missing; a black laptop bag that had the official firearm, and an M-kopa mobile phone make Nokia 1.4 with two Safaricom lines.

Other items reportedly stolen include four rounds of calibre 9mm that was on the table.
