A mathematics teacher at a girl's secondary school in Navakholo, Kakamega County, is on the run after he was allegedly caught in bed with a Form Four student.

Enoch Osero is said to have escaped through a window at the back of his house, soon after his fellow teachers and the school watchman stormed his home at 3:00 am yesterday morning.

“The 19-year-old student went missing for two weeks, after she was sent home to collect school fees, but Osero clandestinely sneaked the student to his house,” DCI said.

It has also been revealed that the teacher promised private remedial tuition to the candidate who is set to sit the upcoming national examinations, to cover for the missed classes.

“However, fellow teachers got wind of Osero’s escapades and stormed his house in the devil’s hour, forcing him to take flight through the window. The teachers who were chanting war cries baying for their colleague’s blood accused him of bringing the name of the noble teaching profession into disrepute,” DCI said.

The school’s board of management has since convened a meeting to determine the fate of Osero who was yet to be confirmed as a permanent employee.

Meanwhile, the student was escorted to Navakholo medical hospital for necessary tests as police launched a manhunt for the teacher.
