A KCSE centre manager from St. Francisca Nyamonaria Secondary school in Nyamarambe, Kisii County, was on Friday arrested for exam malpractice.

It is reported that the manager helped two people who are yet to be identified to disappear after they were caught revising a Mathematics paper inside one of the school's toilets.

In a police report, the duo had locked itself inside the lavatory and had two mobile phones, including one belonging to the centre manager.

Also in the toilet, the two had 13 four-figure log books with conveniently hidden writings, an exercise book with notes and two school attendance registers.

It has been established that the two men were to be sneaked into the KCSE exam room to sit for the scheduled Mathematics exam.

Confirming the incident, Kisii County Director of Education Pius Ong'oma noted that the centre manager identified as Robert Ogendo (59), was arrested for defying the national examination rules.

Ong’oma will be replaced with security agents as officers heighten strategies to prevent examination cheating.

The matter remains under investigation as police launch a manhunt for the two suspects who are on the run.
