As men across the globe celebrated International Men's Day, a group of men in Gatundu North, Kiambu County joined hands in praying for Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who continues to receive treatment abroad.

The over 400 men, drawn from all villages in the expansive Constituency made lengthy prayers for the man whom they said has contributed heavily to the social-economic development of the country.

Kuria recently underwent a successful 7th surgery on his feet after he suffered third-degree burns from an electric gadget he was using to warm his body.

The MP, who was initially receiving treatment at the Karen Hospital flew abroad for specialised treatment after his legs got numb.

In an interview with a local TV station, the lawmaker disclosed that his feet literally exploded and after a checkup at the hospital, he was informed that he had sustained third-degree burns.

Led by Mathew Mukuha Mwangi, the men from Gatundu North Constituency said Kuria deserved to be celebrated for fighting for the recouping of Mt Kenya's economy which was almost on its knees following reduced returns from tea, coffee and dairy farming.

"We dedicated the day and prayed for Moses Kuria who has successfully undergone the 7th surgery on his feet. Our subject is a man of vision and one who goes out of the way to make things happen especially the major social-economic developments we have seen in Mt Kenya," said Mukuha.

Mukuha who is a hopeful MP in Gatundu North Constituency said he will lead nationwide prayers for Kuria to request God to accord him a speedy recovery.

"We want to lead the nation into a series of prayers as we pray for Moses Kuria, we have set the example, let the nation follow suit," added Mukuha.
