During the selection of Form One students' annual intakes at Banja Mixed Secondary School in Nandi County, the process is undertaken purely on merit.
However, in a very rare coincidence, the school has admitted six pairs of twins for the last four years much to the amusement of both teachers and students.
The admission of six sets of twins by Banja Secondary among them Bright Madahana and Britney Mmbone (pair in form four), Diana Kirate and Chanty Dalitsu (pair in form two), Collins Kipchirchir and Kelvin Kirui (pair in form four), George Brookes and Oliro Oluli (pair in form four) and Lanssen Kisia and Epstein Kisang (pair in form one) was seemingly a blessing after putting the school on the list of top academic performers.
The School which is located in the little-known, remote village of Terik location in Aldai Constituency, Nandi County prides to host brilliant twins that have consistently posted excellent results in their exams.
They have become a source of inspiration and admiration to other students since the twelve students each paired in form 1 to form 4 scored over 350 marks in the KCPE examination before they got admitted into the school at different times and years.
The School Principal Robert Korir said the students hail from different families and their presence has attracted visitors to the school.

Korir said that the school authorities discovered the twins also scored similar marks and had similar interests in studies.
"I came to this mixed secondary school five years ago when the school had 400 students but the number has increased to 852 students and among them are six twins who are among the brightest students at the school," Korir stated.
K24 Digital established the twins normally receive salutes from fellow students during lunch breaks and game time and both teachers and students are amused by them.
Teachers say since they joined the school none of them had received any disciplinary action.
“They do best in science courses and they have motivated other learners who have also embraced the respective subjects. We are looking forward to having many students taking up medicine, Engineering and Law courses in tertiary education,” Korir noted.
School teachers told K24 Digital that they have outstanding discipline and coincidentally each pair of twins walk together within the school when in class or playing on the field.

They are normally known to break for tea and lunch together and on school's closing and opening days, they are always spotted together. Their lifestyles attracted the liking of more than 851 students and teachers.
Whenever they went out for games, each pair played similar games in football and rugby.
To enable teachers to tell them apart, the school introduced an admission number tagged on their outfits.
