A teenager believed to have been stealing women's underwear has been nabbed by elders in Tegeyat village, Mosop sub-county, Nandi County.
According to Tegeyat village elder Kiptanui Ronoh, the 19-year-old was caught with at least 20 undies and other stolen clothes in his bag.
This followed an increased outcry of mysterious missing underpants in the area where most victims say their undergarments disappear at night from their clotheslines after washing them.
Following the report, a door-to-door search was launched within the village before the suspect identified as Joel Kimurgor was caught with the undergarments inside his house.
In his defence, the teenager says pressure from his girlfriend to buy her inner wears as a sign of love led him to steal the garments.
Locals have however condemned the act as an abomination in the community.
