A robbery with violence suspect was on Tuesday morning shot dead by police officers in Kasarani, Nairobi County.

In a statement released by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti, detectives are pursuing three more suspects who were together with the deceased.

The four men had broken into a liquor store which is located along Mirema-Marurui road within Kasarani.

“The officers arrived at the scene just before the gang had gained access into the store known as Happy Hour,” the statement read in part.

As soon as the suspects spotted the officers, one of the thugs opened fire which prompted the officers to fire back shooting the suspect on the spot.

The other three managed to escape in a blue Toyota Wish while the deceased aged 25-year-old was shot dead.

“Police recovered a mini Walther pistol from suspect, loaded with one round of 9mm ammunition, two broken padlocks and a spotlight,” the statement further read.

No identification card was found with the late.

Kinoti asked members of the public who have information that can lead to the arrest of the trio to give information to the police.
