"I know he is genetically my father, but I don't know this man," Silas Miami began as he give an incite of the kind of relationship he has with his father and journalist Louis Otieno.

Speaking to NTV's James Smart, Miami revealed incredibly tough memories he has about his father.

Miami explained how it was difficult for many people to believe that the celebrated journalist was his father due to their strained relationship.

He further claimed that Louis made it clear to him that he could not consider him as his son, something he said caused him psychological pain and later pushed him away from him.

"For years, only a few people knew that he was my biological father. Louis made it clear to me that he wanted nothing to do with me. This hurt me for a very long time that I had to go through therapy," he said

"Louis is many things to people but me? He is a trash of a father who didn't care if I lived or died," Miami added.

Miami further claimed that Louis was not only an abusive father to him but also an abusive husband to his mother. He accused the father of doing anything possible to inflict pain on him and his mother.

Though he admits that his mother was also violent in a way, he says that she did not deserve the physical and emotional torture she endured at the hands of his father.

"He made it his mission to break, belittle and embarrass my mother," Miami said.

The filmmaker who also accused Louis of being an absentee dad revealed that he met him when he was 22.

"I grew accustomed to this man's absence. I grew resentful. I promised myself to suffer through everything I could to prove that I was worth his love. For a child, their missing father is their fault," Miami said.

Miami is currently in South Africa where he is living with his boyfriend Patrick while his parents are still living in Kenya.
