The Kieleweke and Tanga Tanga differences played out on the floor of the Senate during proceedings that were characterized by name-calling, shouting and character assassination.
Deputy President William Ruto's allies, who identify themselves with the Tanga Tanga group, put up a spirited effort to save the governor's job led by Majority Leader Murkomen.
Senators Susan Kihika, Loitiptip, Linturi and Cheruiyot also defended the governor.
