KUCCPS extends placement application deadline after c*mplaints

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the placement application deadline to February 26, 2024.

In an announcement shared on Friday, February 16, 2024, KUCCPS Chief Executive, Mercy Wahome noted that the extension is meant to accord parents and students enough time to apply so that no one is left behind.

The deadline for the ongoing placement application has been extended to February 26, 2024.

"I take this opportunity to assure all those seeking training opportunities through the KUCCPS portal that no one will be left behind," KUCCPS CEO Agnes Mercy Wahome stated.

Wahome also encouraged students who scored mean grades of between C and E in their KCSE to apply to TVETs.

She additionally underscored that the agency was working together with various universities and colleges to guide applicants.

Earlier, students and parents expressed their frustrations after the KUCCPS portal broke down.

A section of students prospective students seeking admission to higher education institutions lamented that they were unable to submit their applications due to stalled operations at the website.

Addressing the complaints, KUCCPs stated that the issue was caused by an influx of applications from students

KUCCPS officially opened its application portal on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

In their notice shared at the time, KUCCPs said the portal was open for placement of students to Universities, TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs), and Open University of Kenya (OUK).

KUCCPS stated that it was targeting the KCSE class of 2023 and Form Four leavers from 2000 to 2022.

"The wait is over! The @KUCCPS_Official portal is now open! It's time to apply for your preferred course in an institution of your choice. Keep it here for updates," the notice read in parts.
