Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched a manhunt for two prime suspects in a robbery with violence in Muguga, Kabete in Kiambu county.

In a statement, the DCI says that earlier today at around 2 am, the two suspects luckily escaped the wrath of one Godwin Wanyama whom they had targeted to kill but instead turned on them and killed one of them.

Before the sudden twist of events, Evans Atuya, 35, armed with a knife and two others had staged a robbery in Wanyama's house after breaking into the crib by knocking his door to the ground using a huge rock.

A scuffle immediately ensued as the thugs tried to subdue their victim but a tactful Wanyama went straight for Atuya’s hand and got hold of the knife.

Wanyama would then use the knife to stab him as his other two accomplices took flight before he succumbed to injuries.

"The suspect only managed a few steps from Wanyama’s house, before he fell down and succumbed to the injuries caused by his own weapon," part of the statement read.

Officers from Muguga police station visited the scene to confirm the incident and collect evidence for further investigations.

The detectives however advised victims of such attacks from armed thugs to avoid a confrontation that may lead to them losing their lives where possible.
