The Ministry of Health has received a donation of 940 mobile tablets from the World Health Organization  worth Ksh49,461,358 for emergency response efforts

In a statement released on Thursday, March 28th, the Ministry expressed appreciation for the generous contribution noting that the donation will be a step towards enhancing digitization within the health sector.

Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha extended gratitude to WHO Country Representative, Abdourahmane Diallo, for their support towards advancing the digitalization agenda in healthcare.

Emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to the cause, she highlighted the importance of digitizing the entire health sector to improve the visibility of health services, including efficient management of commodities and human resources.

"Today, the Ministry of Health received a donation of 940 mobile tablets valued at USD 376,132 from the

Echoing these sentiments, Mary Muthoni, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, stressed the significance of backing the health digitalization agenda.

She said that the 940 tablets symbolize collaborative efforts crucial for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17 on partnerships.

The donation was hailed as a significant milestone by WHO Kenya Representative Abdourahmane Diallo, who highlighted the transformative impact of these tablets on improving the quality of immunization data.

"These 940 tablets will go a long way to contribute to improving the quality of immunization data and hence provide verifiable data. These data elements include vaccination records and vaccine supply stock at vaccination points. Data is the cornerstone to inform decision making and hence the need for quality data," Diallo said.
