A 46-year-old man from Bulapesa Sub-Location in Isiolo Town has been arrested on suspicion of defiling an 18-month old baby.
Isiolo Sub-County Police Commander, Moses Owiti, said the toddler’s mother had left her sleeping in her house on Thursday, November 14, as she went to buy items from a nearby shop, but upon returning, she found the girl missing.

A frantic search for the baby in the neighbourhood ensued thereafter.
After tens of minutes of the distressing search, the middle-aged woman found her daughter in one of the houses belonging to her male neighbour.
The baby was bleeding from her genitals. The defiler, on the other hand, was standing next to the minor.
“His manhood was still erect, when I busted him,” said the girl’s mother.
The shocked and infuriated parent rushed to a nearby police station, where she reported the incident and took the girl to Isiolo County Referral Hospital for emergency care.
Doctors at the medical facility ran tests on the girl, and ascertained that she had been sexually abused.
“The suspect is in custody at Isiolo police post as we conclude investigations into the alleged crime,” Isiolo Sub-County Police Commander, Moses Owiti, told K24 Digital.
“I kindly ask parents to keep a keen eye on their children during the holiday season. Not everyone who interacts with the minors has good intentions,” added Owiti.
